Kim Tinuviel’s artwork reflects the abstract textures and colors of her everyday world. She artfully orchestrates a complex interplay of cameras, computers, traditional art-making processes and found objects to create this distinct imagery. She is fascinated by the colors and textures of oxidization and decay, and frequently use alternative surfaces or materials such as metal, wood and stone to create her work. Since childhood, she has had the ability to 'hear' color, due to a neurological condition called synesthesia. That, coupled with extensive training and experience as a classically-trained musician has had a significant influence on her work, adding rhythm, harmony and lyrical qualities to the visual dimension of her imagery. As a visual artist, Kim’s singular goal is to find the extraordinary within the ordinary.
